Obituary For Mr. Richard Edward “Ricky” Lester

Mr. Richard Edward “Ricky” Lester, 64, of Lester, WV died Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at Raleigh General Hospital after a short illness.

Ricky was born July 15, 1959, he was the son of Vera Lester and Matthew Washington.

Ricky graduated from Trap Hill High School in 1977. He was an Army Veteran and of the Christian Faith.

Richard was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lonnie and Vergie Lester and sister, Evada Lester.

Survivors include his loving mother, Vera Lester; father, Matthew Washington; brother, Ronald (Nina); sister, April; aunts, Ewan, Patsy, Linda Lester; dear friends, Wayne and Charlotte Gray and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.

Richard was such a loyal and helpful person.

Graveside service will be 12:30PM Thursday, February 29, 2024 at Greenwood Memorial Park, Beckley with Bishop Fred T. Simms officiating.

Friends, while wearing masks and observing social distancing, may view and visit with the family from 11:00AM - 12:00PM at the funeral home.
