Obituaries – Their Stories Live On

Mr. Robert Lawson, 72, of Beckley, WV passed Tuesday, November 29, 2022.

Born October 29, 1950, he was the son of the late Anne Gwinn and Phillip Lawson.

Robert was a military veteran who served as a Marine and had 19 years of service in the Army Reserves.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jesse Lawson.

Left to cherish precious memories are his children, Michael (Jamilah) Lawson of Charlotte, NC, Robert Lawson of Winston Salem, NC, Marguerite Lawson of Beckley, WV, and Brandy Lawson Dunbar of Winston Salem, NC; brothers James Thompson of Upper Marlboro, MD, Tyrone Gwinn of NC, and Bradford Gwinn of Jonesboro, GA; sisters Phyllis Pannell of Cleveland, OH, Janice Woody of Beckley, WV, and Alfreda Lawson of AL; aunt, Joy Thompson; ex-wife Contrina Lawson; 13 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral service will be 12:00PM Friday, December 9, 2022 at Church of God MPGT 132 Old Turnpike Rd, Beckley. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Beckley.

Friends, while wearing masks and observing social distancing, may view and visit with the family one hour prior.
