Obituaries – Their Stories Live On

Mr. Robert McDowell, 65, of Beckley, died Tuesday, September 15, 2015.

Born June 30, 1950, he was the son of the late Dewey B. McDowell and Amy Winston Phillips.

Mr. McDowell attended Stratton High School and worked at Jackie Withrow (formerly Pinecrest Hospital) where he retired after 30 years of service.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Aurelia ôRayaö Carson and Carolyn C. McDowell.

Those left to cherish precious memories are his son, Adam (Christy) Thomas; special companion, Cynthia Thomas; step-sons, Tony (Melissa), Don, William (ôTookieö), and Andre (Ann); brother, Dewey (Revella) Phillips; and sister, Bishop Eunice (Roger) Jones; seven grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Funeral Service will be 12:00 noon, Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at Welcome Baptist Church, 206 Eight Street, Beckley, with Bishop David Allen officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Beckley. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church.
