Obituary For Mr. Ronald Pierre Lawson Sr.
Mr. Ronald Pierre Lawson Sr., 71, was born November 29, 1950, in Whipple, WV. He was the son of the late Conrad and Ezell Gray Lawson
God in his infinite wisdom called Ronald to eternal peace and rest Wednesday, March 30, 2022, at his home of 35 years in East Park.
Ronald and his family relocated to Philadelphia, PA in 1956 when the coal mine in Whipple shutdown.
Ronald attended Walton Elementary School, Fitz Simon Junior High School and Simon Gratz High School in Philadelphia and with his family, attended Calvary Church of God.
Ronald worked at Allen Wood Steel Company. Ronald married Linda “Peaches” Johnson, this marriage ended in divorce, but to this union was born his son, Ronald Pierrie Lawson Jr, and daughters, Rondell, and Kia Lawson.
Ronald returned to WV in 1982 and, with his father, founded Lawson Construction Company.
Ronald was a quick learner and soon he was a master carpenter, plumber, and electrician. He also was a very wise talented auto mechanic, and many friends and neighbors saved money when he would work on their cars.
Ronald also enjoyed baking sweet potato pies, fruit cobblers, playing bingo and listening to gospel and Motown music.
Ronald, in addition to his parents, was preceded in death by his brothers, Conrad Lawson Jr, and Jerry T. Lawson; sister, Renee Rose Lawson-Pagan and a great grandchild.
Ronald leaves to cherish precious memories his loving faithful companion of 35 years, Sherbdean Woodson-Clark; son, Ronald Pierrie (Mandy Dominques) Lawson Jr.; daughters, Rondell and Kia Lawson; brothers, Gary Wayne Lawson, Kirk Douglas (Dione) Lawson, Clint Ramsey (Deeanna) Lawson; sister, Kathy Elizabeth Lawson; beloved step-children, Lisha Woodson, Michelle Smith, and Christine Lee; beloved granddaughter Carrie (Willie Jones) Lee; the pride and joy of his life, Chole Grace Jones; devoted friends, Alma and Charles Fleming; Nancy Crump, 16 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Service will be 12:00PM Saturday, April 9, 2022 at Welcome Baptist Church 206 Eighth St., Beckley, WV with Bishop David Allen officiating.
Friends, while wearing mask and observing social distancing may view one hour prior to the service at the church.
