Obituaries – Their Stories Live On

Mr. Russell Manns, 75, of Beckley, died Thursday, February 15, 2018.

Born February 28, 1942 in Winding Gulf, he was the son of the late Raymond and Lillian Moon Manns

A 1960 graduate of Stratton High School, he was employed as a teacher and principal.

He was a life member of Shiloh Baptist Church, Polemarch of Beckley of the Beckley Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. and sat on the Board of Directors for Middle Eastern Province for Kappa Alpha Psi.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Sharon Manns.

Those left to cherish precious memories are his wife of 54 years, Maxine Lilly Manns; sons, Russell (Krista) Manns Jr., of Charlotte, NC and Kevin Manns of Winston Salem, NC; daughter, Kelli Anderson of Winston Salem, NC; sister, Lois Manns of Beckley, WV; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral service will be 1:00PM Thursday, February 22, 2018 at Central Baptist Church, Brooks and G Sts, Beckley, with Minister Patrick Williams, Elder David Moore, and Minister Franklin Hairston officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity.
