Obituary For Mr. Samuel Alexander Berry Sr.

Mr. Samuel Alexander Berry Sr., also known as “Sam,” 71, of Mabscott, WV passed Tuesday, November 7, 2023 following a long illness.

Sam was born in Beckley, WV, March 29, 1952 to Charles and Lillie Berry.

Sam was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School.

Sam was preceded in death by his parents, Lillie and Charles Berry.

Sam is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn Berry, who shared a love that existed outside of time. This love was connected with an unconditional bond while Carolyn cared for him during his illness; his beloved children, Audrey Berry of WV, Samuel Berry Jr. (Crystal) of GA, Ryan Berry (Tiffani) of VA, and Patrick Berry (Kim) of TN; siblings, Barbara (Wilbert), Roy (Brenda), Charlotte (Jimmy), and Lisa, all of WV; grandchildren, Braxton of WV, Dexter (Crystal) of WV, Jovon, NJ, Brandon of VA, Malcom (Maryjane) of MI, Nechemya (Luz) of WV, Bryana of SC, Brittney of TX, Patrick Jr. and Melodie, both of VA; great-grandchildren, Anayah, Ethan, Uri, Ivory, all of WV, Maddison, Milo, Mia , all of MI, Emmanual and Samantha, both of WV; over 30+ foster children, and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, special longtime friends, Mayor Wayne Houck, Anthony Arnt, Arthur Claytor, and Jessie Green, and a village of loving neighbors.

Sam was a phenomenal construction worker who mastered the art of carpentry, laying brick, block, and stone for over 50+ years. This passion started at the young age of 16 and while he was a jack of all trades, he had the ability and talent to master them all! His craftmanship was outstanding and impeccable. To know Sam was to love him. He had a very compassionate heart and loved his family dearly. He will truly be missed, and we will cherish the 71 years that God Blessed us with his presence.

“A Forever Love”
I will hold you in my heart until
I can hold you again in Heaven!
~Love Carol~
