Mr. Samuel William Brown, Sr., 80, of Beckley, died Wednesday, April 27, 2016.

Born February 14, 1936 in Manville, OH, he was the son of the late William Brown and Anna Brown Watson.

He was a coalminer at Slab Fork, worked many years at Beckley Hospital, was a carpenter, member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, and The Masion Club.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Michael Allen Brown

Those left to cherish precious memories are his wife, Barbara of Beckley; sons, Samuel Brown of Navarre, FL, and Gregory Brown of Beckley; daughter, Jill Brown of Beckley; brother, Robert Cobbs; sister, Teresa Brown; grandchildren, Torre Brown of Michigan, Calvin Brown of Ohio, Sharie Bennett of Beckley, Dej'a McCoy of Atlanta, GA, and Jevon Ely of Beckley; great-grandchildren, Keyon Bennett, Layla Brown and Sydney Brown.

Funeral Service will be 1:00pm, Monday, May 2, 2016 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 142 Mool Ave., Beckley, with Rev. Nelson Staples, lll officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral parlor.
