Obituaries – Their Stories Live On

Mr. Sandy Wells, 67, of Mount Hope, died Friday, July 3, 2015.

Born January 19, 1948 in Burlington, NC, he was the son of the late Charlotte Upshur and Major Wells Sr.

He worked as a custodian and was a member of Rock Church Assembly, Mt. Hope.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Major Wells Jr. and AJ Lotts and sister, Margaret Lotts.

Those left to cherish precious memories are his wife of 46 years, Mary Alicia Allen Wells of Mt. Hope; sons, Sandy Lewis Wells Jr. of Mt. Hope, Mike (Tomeka) Nichols of Charlotte, NC; daughters, Racheal (Thomas) Shelton of Oak Hill, WV, Melissa Wells and Michelle (Andrew) Staples, both of Mt. Hope; fourteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 1:00pm, Wednesday, July 8, 2015, at the Glorious Church of God in Christ, 421 Main St., Mount Hope, WV with Elder Thomas Allen and Bishop John Grant officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church.
