Obituaries – Their Stories Live On

Mr. Steven Alan Carson, 54, of Beckley, WV, died Friday, March 18, 2022, at 8:37 PM at Appalachian Regional Hospital after a long illness.

Born August 21, 1967, in Beckley, WV, the ninth child of the late William H “Billy” Carson Sr. and Frances Oliver Carson.

Steven served in the United States Army for seven years and the National Guard for fifteen years. He worked in the circulation department of the Register Herald for nine years and was a member of First Baptist Church of Harper Heights.

Steven loved to travel and will be missed by all that loved and knew him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, William H. Carson, Sr., Gary Randy Carson and Phil Carson.

Those left to cherish precious memories are his wife, Carla Davis Carson; children, Monisha Carson of NC, Steve Carson of Atlanta, GA, Johvon, Dekresha, and Tyron Davis, all of Beckley, WV, Crystal Sorrells of Hartville, SC, Brittany Hannah of Beckley, WV, and Cameron Wallington of NC; brother, Elder Bruce (Nina) Carson of Minden, WV; sisters, Anita Morton of Beckley, WV, Mary (Moses) Hubert of Columbus, OH, Stephanie Chandler of AZ, Linda (Walter) Robinson of Carricou, Grenada; sister-in-law, Nancy Carson of Beckley and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 12:00PM Saturday, April 2, 2022 at First Baptist Church Harper Heights 131 Berlin Ct. Beckley with Bishop David Allen officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity.

Friends, while wearing masks and observing social distancing, may view one hour prior to the service at the church.
