Obituaries – Their Stories Live On

Mr. Theodore Mack “Ted” Pinckney, 76, of Beckley departed this life on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at Ruby Memorial Hospital, due to a serious illness.

Born August 10, 1942 in SC, raised in Queens, NY, he was the son of the late James and Hazel Pinckney Lee.

Ted graduated from high school and joined the Army. After serving his country, he moved back to NY and later married his current wife, Sandra Pinckney. In 2000, Ted retired from Lucent Technologies.

Ted, in his early years, enjoyed bowling and loved spending time with family and friends. Ted loved his dog, Mack and cat, Pearl. He also adored his grandchildren. They were the apple of his eye. He was a jokester and loved to make people laugh.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Thelma and grandmother, Matter.

Those left to cherish precious memories are his wife, Sandra Pinckney of Beckley, WV; sons, Anthony Pinckney of Bronx, NY, Eric Pinckney, of CA, Steven (Jessica) Troy Pinckney and Gary Mack Pinckney, both of Beckley, WV, Timothy (Rosa) Moore of Bronx, NY and Alfred (Yeis) Moore of Yonkers, NY; daughter, Wendy Jones of Bronx, NY; eighteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Saturday, May 18, 2019 at Welcome Baptist Church 206 Eighth Street, Beckley WV. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Beckley.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church.
