Obituaries – Their Stories Live On

Mr. Thomas W. DeFilippis, 48, of Beckley, West Virginia, went to be with the Lord on Saturday evening, May 21, 2022.

Born October 2, 1973 in Arlington, VA, he was the son of Frank Samuel and Frances I. Rose DeFilippis Jr. of Beckley.

While Tom DeFilippis had some health concerns, his death was sudden and unexpected by his mother, father, family, and friends. Tom is with his Heavenly Father and his two brothers who preceded him in death.

Tom DeFilippis was a graduate of Greater Beckley Christian School and served in the U. S. Navy on an aircraft carrier. He attended Beckley College and Concord College. Mr. DeFilippis worked doing road construction for years on the east coast.

Mr. DeFilippis was an avid sports fan. He thoroughly enjoyed West Virginia University games of basketball and football. He was active as a youth in baseball and basketball.

Tom was preceded in death by his brothers, Christopher DeFilippis and Frank S. DeFilippis III; his maternal and paternal grandparents and several aunts and uncles.

In addition to his parents, Tom is survived by his daughter, Courtney Mariah James of Clarksburg, West Virginia; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Tom had a special friend in Pam Jennings from early elementary school through his adult life. Tom will be missed and loved by his family and friends.

Memorial service 2:00PM Saturday, July 30, 2022 at Calloway Heights Baptist Church, 132 Rural Acres Dr. Beckley, with Pastor Kim Kirby officiating.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church.
