Obituaries – Their Stories Live On

Mr. Wesley Greer Jr., 93, of Beckley, WV passed away quietly On Thursday, November 13, 2025.

Wesley was born March 10, 1932 in Lillybrook, WV to the late Wesley Greer Sr. and Christine Onion.

Wesley met the love of his life at the age of 19 and married her in 1952. Rosetta Terrell Greer, (who passed away January 1, 2022), and Wesley were married for 70 years. They moved to Newark, NJ in 1952, where they worked and raised their four children Wesley III, Ronald, LaGrant, and Michael. Wesley was a recreational department supervisor at East Orange for over 30 years. After retirement, he and his wife moved back to Beckley.

Wesley loved fishing, old-school music, and was a stylish dresser. He also loved storytelling and sharing memories with his grandchildren.

Wesley, in addition to his parents and wife, was preceded in death by son, Wesley III and grandson, LaGrant Greer Jr.

Those left to cherish precious memories are sons, Ronald, LaGrant, and Michael; sisters, Catherine, Roberta, Mary, Esther and Ruth; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

As per his request, he has been cremated.
