Obituaries – Their Stories Live On

Mr. William A. Laster, Sr., 71, of Beckley died Sunday, October 21, 2018.

Born August 8, 1947 in Summerlee, WV, he was the son of the late Ernest and Ernestine Kessler Laster

Bill was the Manager of Ryan’s Steak House, a graduate of Collins High School, an Army Veteran, and member of First Baptist Church, Greentown.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Vernita Victoria Laster; brothers, Gregory Laster and Ernest Michael White and sister, Sylvia Laster Tucker.

Left to cherish precious memories are his sons, Steffen Wright and William Laster, Jr., both of Beckley; daughter, Angelique A. Laster of Beckley; sisters, Patricia Penn of Columbus, OH,Teresa “Kitten” Grasty of Wilmington, DE and Juan "Renee" Laster of Washington, DC; brother, Larry “Dust” (Angela) Davis of Charleston, WV; sisters-in-law, Nell (Rev. Walter) Leach of Beckley, Cynthia Taylor of Maryland and Sharon Laster of Wilmington DE; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral service will be 12:00PM Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Welcome Baptist Church 206 Eighth Street, Beckley with Bishop David Allen officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Beckley.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church.
