Obituaries – Their Stories Live On

Mr. William ôInkyö Whitehead, 86, of Beckley, died Sunday, August 16, 2015.

Born April 10, 1929 in Bellwood, Greenbrier County, WV, he was the son of the late Moses and Mittis Whitehead.

He worked for MartyÆs Furniture until its closing and John W. Eye where he retired at 80 years of age. William also loved to fish.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Dorothy Mae Whitehead; two daughters, Paulette Ross and Carolyn Harris; six sisters, and three brothers.

Those left to cherish precious memories are his sons, Charles (Kay) Mitchell and William (Sharon) Whitehead, both of Beckley; eight grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Friday, August 21, 2015, at Welcome Baptist Church, 206 Eighth Street, Beckley, with Bishop David Allen officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church.
