Obituary For Mrs. Annie Elizabeth Dickerson Dixon

Mrs. Annie Elizabeth Dickerson Dixon, 98, of White Sulphur Springs, died Saturday, March 26, 2016 at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center.

Born October 19, 1917 in Hot Springs, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late John A. and Zoe L. White Dickerson. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

She worked as a housekeeper for The Greenbrier Resort and was a member of First Baptist Church of White Sulphur Springs for over seventy years, where she served as Church Mother. She also loved working in her yard.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Julian E. Dixon; son, Leon E. Dixon; grandson-in law, Anthony Basil; sister, Alice Dickerson; brothers, Wilburn "Buddy" Dickerson and Milford Dickerson; special friend, Alice Banks.

Those left to cherish precious memories are her caregivers, Mrs. Connie Williams, Rev. Greg E. Scott, and Randy Viney; two grandchildren, Dominic (Adriana) Dixon of Quito, Ecuador and Denise Dixon-Basil of Vienna, Virginia; four great-grandchildren, Domenica and Angel Dixon, Charles Anthony and Angelica Basil; one great-great-grandson, Anthony Victor I; daughter-in-law, Lucille Dixon; special friends down through the years, Katherine Coleman Johnson, Helen Burns Prather of Columbus, OH, Celiste Coy of White Sulphur Springs, Donna Lee of Teays Valley, Rich Ford, and Rod Davis, who cut her grass through the years; and other relatives and friends.

Special thanks to Dr. Frank Collins, Katie Green, and Mary Rush.

Funeral service will be 12:00 PM Thursday, March 31, 2016, First Baptist Church of White Sulphur Springs, 10 Church Street, with Rev. Greg E. Scott officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery, Gum Street White Sulphur Springs. Friends may call two hours prior to the service at the church.
