Obituary For Mrs. Ardelia Gore Brown
Mrs. Ardelia Gore Brown was born on May 3, 1928 to Florence and Lonnie Gore in Brooklyn, WV. She was called home to be with our Lord and Savior on Saturday, September 18, 2021.
Ardelia attended school in Fayette County, WV.
She went on to become an excellent wife, mother, homemaker, and loving grandmother.
Early in life she married Ralph Scott, from that union they had Winston Scott, Alphonso Scott, and Cynthia Scott Steelman. Later in life, she married George A. Brown and from that union they had Patricia Brown Walker, and twins, George Brown, Jr, and Joyce Brown Logan. Ardelia loved her family and enjoyed being a homemaker and stay-at-home mother.
Her favorite things to do were taking care of others, having Sunday dinner for family and all who entered her home, working word search puzzles and reading.
Ardelia was loved for her homemade chicken and dumplings. People would come from far and near to get a taste. She never had a bad word to say about anyone however, Ardelia developed the art of speaking her mind which is how she got the name “GG” “Gangsta Grandma”. Her ultimate message was to be kind to others … it won’t cost you anything. Although it had been a while since she had been in the house of God, she was a woman of God.
To welcome her home to Heaven are her parents, Florence Gore and Lonnie Gore; brothers, Wilber, Herbert, and Lonnie Gore Jr; sisters, Josephine Gore, Alberta Mosley, Irene Clemmons, Juanita Fox, Ella Gore, and Janice Pittman; sons, Winston Scott, Alphonso “Jeep” Scott, George “Bug” Brown Jr, and daughter, Cynthia Scott Steelman.
To carry on her legacy are her husband, George; daughters, Patricia Brown Walker and Joyce Brown Logan; brother, Robert (Pearl) Gore; sister, Mary Gore; very special grandson and caregiver, Quinton A Logan; other grandchildren, Connie Scott, Clifton Montgomery, Jason Montgomery, and Jetia Montgomery and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family.
The family of Ardelia Gore Brown would like to thank everyone for their thoughts, prayers, calls and texts. Special thanks to PCH, HH, Renee Smith Borders, Gloria Ricks Colin, Connie Woods Scott, and Antwan Taunya Sorrells for the friendship and love shown over the years and especially in our time of need, We would like to thank the Ritchie & Johnson Funeral Parlor staff.
