Obituaries – Their Stories Live On

Mrs. Bernice Berger, 94, of Bartonville, PA, formerly of Beckley died Tuesday, November 15, 2016.

Born March 23, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Luvenia Mahan.

Mrs. Berger retired after 20 years as a Baker from St. MaryÆs Hospital in East Orange, NJ.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Lester Berger Sr.; daughters, Joyce Ann Berger and Marsha Bonita Berger; two sons, Cecil Ray Berger and Daniel Berger.

Those left to cherish precious memories are her children, Joe Lester Berger, Jr. of Atlanta, GA, Walter Eugene Berger of East Orange, NJ, Kerley Berger of Newark, NJ, and Lola Davis of Stephens City, VA; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 12 noon, Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, 304 Worley Avenue, Beckley, WV with Rev. Nathaniel Carey officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity, WV.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church.
