Obituary For Mrs. Brenda Joann Drake Thompson

Mrs. Brenda Joann Drake Thompson, surrounded by her loving family, peacefully transitioned from her earthly life to eternal life with our Heavenly Father on Monday, October 10, 2022, after a short illness.

Brenda was born May 31, 1952 in Fayetteville, WV to the late John Thomas Drake and Gertrude Nancy Drake.

Brenda is survived by her husband, Timothy; sons, Timothy, Tyrone, and Kristopher, all of Fayetteville, WV; daughter, Yolanda of Winston-Salem, NC; grandsons, Michael of Yadkinville, NC, Christopher of Red Star, WV, Justin of New Port Richey, FL, Erik, and Quinn; great-grandsons, Isaac and Lucas; brothers, John Drake of Page, WV, James Drake and Jerry Drake, both of Fayetteville, WV; sisters, Nancy Drake of Fayetteville, WV and Nadine Washington of Temple Hills, MD and a multitude of nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Brenda was a caring and lovable woman who, throughout her lifetime, devoted herself to God, her family, friends, and others around her. Those who knew her know of her many talents and giving spirit. She shared so much kindness, laughter, and good times with those she knew and loved. Words cannot express how much she will be missed.

Funeral service will be 12:00PM Monday, October 17, 2022 at Gospel Lighthouse Church 206 Washington St. Fayetteville, WV with Pastor Mervin Hairston officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity.

Friends, while wearing masks and observing social distancing, may view and visit with the family one hour prior to the funeral service.
