Obituaries – Their Stories Live On

Mrs. Clara Mae Booker Johnson, 90, of Mt. Hope died December 1, 2016.

Born April 15, 1926 in Horseshoe Bend, WV, she was the daughter of the late Jerry A. and Alice Ware Booker.

Mrs. Johnson was a Practical nurse, homemaker, gospel singer (The Booker Sisters) and attended the Glorious Church of God in Christ, Mt. Hope, WV.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, James, Robert, Bobbie Brown and George Booker; sisters, Eva Thomas, Dora Brown, Geraldine Booker, Louise Brown; grandson, Brian Keith Johnson.

Those left to cherish precious memories are her husband of 64? years, Perkins Jim Johnson of Mt. Hope; sons, Floyd V. (companion, Melissa) Johnson of Mt. Hope, WV and Craig J. (companion, April) Johnson of Beckley, WV; daughter, Evangelist Leslie (David Gregg) Allen of Mt. Airy, NC; sisters, Catherine Bradford of Harvey, WV and Joan Booker of Beckley, WV; 15plus grandchildren; 12plus great-grandchildren; 3plus great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service 1:00 P.M. Friday, December 9, 2016 at Glorious Church of God in Christ, 421 Main St., Mt. Hope, WV with Bishop John Grant officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Beckley.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church.
