Obituary For Mrs. Colethia Leatrice Goard

Colethia L Goard, known as Letha, resided at Plateau Oaks Drive, Oak Hill WV. Letha was born on December 8, 1962 in Harlem Hospital, New York, New York. Letha was the first born to the late Willis Johnathan and Margaret Leatrice Leftwich Deane.

Letha early childhood education was in Harlem, P.S.175, I.S.136 and Satellite Academy where she received her diploma. Upon completion she sought employment in a financial institution where she worked for several years. In her later years, in West Virginia she attended The College of West Virginia where she acquired a dual Associate of Arts degree in General studies and Broadcasting. Then she went on to acquire a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies and a host of others accredited certification.

Letha was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend. Letha loved to cook, dance and dress. She was known for setting trends in reference to dressing. Letha was blessed with the anointing of God holy spirit and the teaching of his holy word. If anyone could get a prayer through, letha could and would despite her short coming, being human and God child. Everyone she encountered had the privilege of being touched by her loving, kind, and gentle spirit. She was a lifelong member of Outreach for Christ Christian Center; however, she was no stranger in the house of the Lord.

She departed this life on January 16, 2021 and leaves to cherish her memories her son and daughter, Johnathan and Coleisia Goard, sister and niece, Venessa and Yadira Diagne, granddaughters, Jada and A’nyiah Goard and grand pups, Gucci and Rue. She also leaves to cherish her memories auntie, Betty Shelton, uncle, Jackie, Jimmy and Nathaniel Leftwich of West Virginia, Auntie Margie Bowen, Patricia and Nathaniel Fripp of New York City and a hold host of cousin.

Sleep on Letha, we will always love you, but God loved you best.

Memorial service will be Saturday April 17, 2021 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church 142 Mool Ave. Beckley with Pastor Shannon Robinson officiating.
