Obituaries – Their Stories Live On

Mrs. Daisy Ellen Essie Lee Benson Robertson, 89, of Beckley, died Monday, March 26, 2018.

Born May 27, 1928 in Lancaster, SC, she was the daughter of the late Johnson and Ellen Meeks Benson.

Mrs. Daisy, also known as Essie Lee, designed and constructed her own home, where she did bookkeeping for the family business, A. R. Construction Company.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey R. Robertson and three sons, Thornton, Marcellous, and Taronzelle.

Left to cherish precious memories are her sons, Aubrey R. Jr. of Seattle, WA; Ulysses D. of Beckley and Voncludia J. of Niceville, FL; daughters, Alberenthious Stover of Charlotte, NC; Ellen Benson of Greensboro, NC; Wandra Keaton and Anthylious Keaton, both of Landcaster, SC, Wyeamer Banks of Beckley and Koveiter Robertson of High Point, NC; sister, Cleartis Hunter of Philadelphia, PA; 20 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be Saturday, March 31, 2018 at First Baptist Church of North Beckley, 110 Ellis Street, Beckley, with Bishop Clarence Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church.
