Obituaries – Their Stories Live On

Mrs. Dorothy Mae Spradley Jackson, 86, of Beckley, died Thursday, September 3, 2015.

Born February 15, 1929 in Skelton, she was the daughter of the late Moses J. and Beatrice M. Seay Spradley.

Mrs. Jackson was a member of Friendship Seventh Day Adventist Church and owned a Hair Salon in New York City.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert L. Jackson Sr.; and eight siblings, Elsie, Henry, James, Edward, Carl, Jennie, Julia, and Ruth.

Those left to cherish precious memories are her son, Delbert L. ôShortyö Jackson Jr., of Jarratt, Va.; brother, Mose J. Spradley of Hempstead, N.Y.; three grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m., Saturday, September 12, 2015 at Heart of God Ministries, 1703 S. Kanawha Street, Beckley, with Bishop Fred T. Simms officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Beckley.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church.
