Obituary For Mrs. Dorothy Mae Toler

MARIETTA, Ga. ù Mrs. Dorothy Mae Toler, 90, of Marietta, GA, formerly of Beckley, died Sunday, October 11, 2015.

Born March 23, 1925, in Beckley, she was the daughter of the late James and Elnora Hunt.

Dorothy attended Stratton High School, worked for the State of West Virginia, and was a member of Central Baptist Church, the Eastern Star, and Fraternal Order of the Elks.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Braxton Toler; daughter, Sandra Claresa King; brothers, Donald Hunt, Robert Hunt (MIA/POW), Dr. Carl Hunt, and Harold Hunt; and sisters, Geraldine Mabry, Sylvia Washington, and Ophalia Taylor.

Those left to cherish precious memories are sister, Joyce (Gwinn) Henry of Marietta, GA; brother, James (Francis) Hunt of Marietta, GA; stepdaughter, Bernidene Tucker of Maryland; special nieces, Saranitta and Qiuana Henry, both of Marietta, GA; a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral service will be 12 p.m. Monday, October 19, 2015, at Central Baptist Church, Brooks and G streets, Beckley, with Bishop David Allen officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church.

    My name is Shkarla G. Mabry-Wiley. I am the Granddaughter of Geraldine Mabry & Reese Mabry and only daughter of Cassandra M. Mabry of Brooklyn, New York. I am filled with joy and sorrow, because I never got to meet my grandmother's sister, but everytime I look at this photo of Mrs. Dorothy I see my grandmother too. We lost some strong women from this world, but Be Encouraged in the Lord Jesus Christ; for He is always making a way out of no way. I will pray for your strength in the Lord please pray for mine.
