Obituary For Mrs. Eunice Fleming

Mrs. Eunice Fleming, 95, of Mt. Hope, WV died Thursday, May 10, 2018.

Born October 4, 1922 in Mt. Hope, she was the daughter of the late Alfonzo F. and Maggie Evans Burrell.

Also preceding her in death are brothers, Willie, John, Mack and Wellington and sisters, Dorothy and Annie.

She was a member of United Missionary Baptist Church, Mt. Hope, graduated from Dubois High School and Bluefield State College, earning her MasterÆs with honors from Marshall University, completing additional graduate work at the University of Michigan and WVU. She retired after teaching at DuBois and Mt Hope High Schools for forty-one years, served as adjunct faculty member at Bluefield State College, was Co-Founder of the Community Choir and vocalist with Theater WV Outdoor Drama, Grandview.

A charter member of the Epsilon Delta Omega Chapter of Alpha Sorority, she received many awards for her commitment, service and dedication to education.

Cherishing precious memories are her son, Kenneth Michael (Brenda) of Sacramento, CA; daughter, Sharon (Robert) of Beckley; six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Service will be 12:00PM Friday, May 18, 2018 at Heart of God Ministries, 1703 S. Kanawha St. Beckley with Rev. Robert Morton officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity.

Friends may call from 10am-12noon at the church.

    Mrs. Fleming was my music teacher. She taught me how to sing. She was an outstanding teacher. I sing today because of her. I enjoyed singing for her. She was a great lady
