Obituaries – Their Stories Live On

Mrs. Fannie Crite Shepherd, 100, of Coral Springs, FL formerly of Lanark, died Tuesday, July 24, 2018. A life-long resident of Lanark, she moved, in 2012, to reside with her daughter.

Born September 4, 1917, she was the youngest of seven children born to the late William Kyle and Creasy Jane Pack Crite.

She was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, Lanark.

Additionally, preceding her in death are her husband of 42years, Reginald Marcus Shepherd; siblings: Emilo, Garnet and Basil Crite, Katherine Venable, Ruby Wooten, and Mary Dixon.

Left to cherish her memory are her only daughter, Regina Shepherd (George) Daniels of Coral Springs, FL; two granddaughters, Rhea Staples (Kenneth) Brown of Miramar, FL and Ruby Daniels of Beckley; great-grandson, Kendall B. Brown of Miramar, FL; great-granddaughters, Rhea and Rosalind Landeros of Columbia, MD; nephews, Loyce (Doris) Venable of Beckley, and Basil Crite of Capitol Heights, MD; and a host of other great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral service will be 12:00PM Saturday, August 4, 2018 at Mt. Vernon

Baptist Church, Lanark with Pastor Damon Hamby and Rev. Nelson E. Staples III officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Beckley.

Friends may call from 11:00AM-12:00PM at the church.
