Obituary For Mrs. Geneva Mae Wilkerson Robinson

Ms. Geneva Mae Wilkerson Robinson, lovingly known as Neva or Neva Mae, 75, of Oak Hill, WV, passed peacefully Thursday, December 4, 2025, at Raleigh General Hospital, surrounded by her family, following a long illness.

Born on July 16, 1950, in Harlem Heights, WV, she was the daughter of the late Ollie Benjamin Wilkerson and Ruth Louise Johnson Wilkerson.

Neva was kind, funny, stubborn in the best way, and full of personality. Anyone who knew her will forever remember her signature greeting - “Whatcha eating?” - the phrase she used instead of “hello” when calling family. She loved to laugh, loved to sing, and loved to be surrounded by the people she cherished most.

She dedicated 30 years of her life as a Senior Therapist Assistant at the Vineland Developmental Center. Her work was not just a job — it was her calling. Her compassion, commitment, and heart made her beloved both by coworkers and those she served.

Faith was the foundation of Neva’s life. A member of the First Baptist Church of Harlem Heights, she was a joyful part of the church’s praise team. Her voice, her energy, and her presence will be missed in the sanctuary she loved so much.

Family meant everything to Neva. She shared an especially close bond with her twin sister, Louise Nelson, and her grandchildren, who were her pride and joy. She loved good food, good music, church activities, and any opportunity to gather with her loved ones.

Neva was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Earl Wilkerson, Brenda Wilkerson, Jackie Hickman, and Toni Walker, brothers-in-law, Schuyler Hickman and Bobby Young, and nephew, Schuyler Hickman II.

Neva leaves to cherish her memory her children, Calvin Lee Robinson of Vineland, NJ, Joseph Anthony (Christine) Govan of Vineland, NJ, Nikki Fauna (Theodore) Ellis of Fayetteville, NC and Brenda Joyce Robinson of Oak Hill, WV; siblings, Regina Young of Temple Hills, MD, (twin sister), Louise Nelson of Oak Hill, WV; 13 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, church family, and friends who loved her dearly.

Funeral service will be 12:00PM Saturday, December 13, 2025 at First Baptist Church of Harlem Heights 416 Broadway Ave.
Oak Hill.

Friends, while wearing masks and observing social distancing, may visit with the family one-hour prior.
