Obituary For Mrs. Glenda Louise Talamone
Mrs. Glenda Louise Talamone, 83, of Oak Hill, WV, passed peacefully on Friday, June 19, 2025.
Glenda, born on September 27, 1942, on Boomer Hill, WV, was the daughter of John and Marie Jefferson. She lived a life filled with love, kindness, laughter, and unwavering devotion to her family. Her gentle spirit, generous heart, and warm smile left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Glenda dedicated her professional career to Histotechnology, where her attention to detail and compassionate nature reflected her commitment to helping others through her work.
Glenda, outside of her career, enjoyed life's simple pleasures. She loved working puzzles, playing computer games, shopping, cooking, and baking for those she loved. Music was always close to her heart. She was a devoted fan of Nickelback, Mystikal, Usher, and often jokingly referred to R&B singer, Nelly, as her "other husband," a comment that never failed to make her family smile.
Glenda, to those who knew her, will be remembered for her genuine kindness and her ability to make everyone feel welcome. She never met a stranger and especially loved talking with children. She also had a soft spot for animals and could often be found feeding any animal that crossed her path - except, as her family would lovingly joke, the occasional cat.
Glenda, above all else, was a devoted wife to her beloved husband, Gary, with whom she shared 42 wonderful years of marriage. No matter how much she enjoyed a shopping trip, she always made sure to get home to her "Boo." Their love and companionship were the foundation of her happiest memories.
Glenda was preceded in death by her parents, John and Marie, (Martin) Jefferson, as well as her brothers and sisters.
Glenda leaves behind to cherish her memory her devoted husband, Gary; daughter and son-in-law, Tia M. (Talamone) Brunk and Ryan Brunk; Suehilah Abdu-Rghiem; and Ebrahim Gains; beloved grandchildren, Jayce Brunk, DJ Gill, Noah Gains, Diamond Jones, Dealia Jones, Jayda Jones; bonus grandchild, Madison Tejada-Vasquez; cherished great-grandchildren, Naomi Jones, Nevaeh Jones, and Patrick Jones; along with many extended family members and dear friends whose lives she touched with her love and generosity.
Glenda's legacy is one of compassion, humor, loyalty, and unconditional love. Whether she was sharing a meal she had prepared, enjoying her favorite music, spending time with family, or offering kindness to a stranger, she made the world a brighter place. Her family finds comfort in knowing that the love she gave so freely will continue to live on in the hearts of everyone who knew her.
Funeral service will be 1:00PM Monday, June 29, 2026 at First Baptist of Harlem Heights 416 Broadway Ave. Oak Hill, WV. Burial will follow in Meadow Haven Memorial Park, Ingram Branch.
