Obituaries – Their Stories Live On

Mrs. Helen Whitlow Blanks, 91, of Skelton, WV died Thursday, March 9, 2017.

Born December 16, 1925 in Raleigh, WV, she was the daughter of the late Raymond Whitlow Sr. and Hattie Lee Price Whitlow.

She was a homemaker and member of First Baptist Church of North Beckley.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Blanks Sr.; son, James Edward Blanks Jr.; daughter, Gloria Jean Blanks and granddaughter, Lissa Darnell Blanks.

Those left to cherish precious memories are her son, Eddie Ray Blanks of Winston Salem, NC; daughter, Regina (Raymond) Johnson of Heartland, AL; brother, Ernest (Loretta) Whitlow of Carrollton, GA; sister, Bernice Hannon of Massillon, OH; thirteen nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 12:00 P.M. Saturday, March 25, 2017 at First Baptist Church of North Beckley, 110 Ellis Street, Beckley WV with Pastor Paul Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity, WV.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church.
