Obituary For Mrs. Henrietta Kay Pryor

Henrietta Kay, on Saturday, February 18, 1956 in Beckley, WV, ventured out into this world, followed by an added surprise, her twin sister, Jennetta Fay, to the late Rev. Charles and Virginia Berger Lawson.

Henrietta graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School and attended West Virginia Institute of Technology. She was employed by Raleigh General Hospital for over 16 years. She lived a life of service, by continuing to care for others through her employment at Raleigh County Commission of Aging, after retirement as a caregiver.

Henrietta attended Welcome Baptist Church, where she worked with the youth, with whom like her mother, she had a passion.

Henrietta was an active member of Heart of God Ministries under the leadership y Bishop Fred T. Simms. She started The Female Rights of Passage, working with young girls, Children's Church, and with the Back to School Program. Many of the youth have come to her thanking her for what she taught them.

Henrietta also served as the president of Igniting New Life. She was the life of the party, even at 69. Henrietta was the definition of a phenomenal woman.

Henrietta, in addition to her parents, was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Glenn; siblings, Andrew Lawson (Anna), Jeffrey Lawson (Elaine), James Lawson (Dolores) and Dorethea Wallace (Lewis, deceased); father-in-law, Rev. Thomas Pryor, mother-in-law, Lorraine Pryor; brothers-in-law, Tyrone, Freddie and Charles Pryor and sister-in-law, Evangelist Franzetta Pryor Woodson.

Henrietta leaves to cherish precious memories her son, Joshua Thomas Pryor (Eboni Hall) and daughter Faith Lynne' Pryor; her prides and joys, her grandson, Josiah Thomas and granddaughter, E'moni Christine Pryor; grand dog, Kactus; special pet, Valour; brothers. Charles A. Lawson (Hazel, deceased), George F. Lawson (Ellen), and John Lawson (Karen); sisters, Beverly (Becky) Delaney Smith (Bob) and her twin, Jennetta Thomas (Royal); brother-in-law, David Pryor (Kathy); sisters-in-law, Dorethea Banks (Cecil, deceased), Virginia Jefferson and Dreama Minor (Roy Lee) and a host of nieces, nephews.other relatives, and friends.

Henrietta's favorite scripture: Phil. 4:13. I can do all things through Christ Jesus who strengthen me.

As per her request, she has been cremated.

Family directed memorial service will be 2:00PM Saturday, August 16, 2025 at Heart of God Ministries 1703 S. Kanawha St. Beckley with Bishop Fred T. Simms officiating.

Friends, while wearing masks and observing social distancing, may visit with the family one-hour prior.
