Obituaries – Their Stories Live On

Mrs. Jacqueline Carol “Jackie” Hickman, 66, of Harlem Heights departed this life on Friday, December 21, 2018 in CAMC Memorial Division, Charleston, WV following a short illness.

Born January 1, 1952 in Oak Hill, WV, she was the youngest child of the late Ollie and Ruth Wilkerson.

Jackie was a graduate of Collins High School. Upon relocating to Washington, DC, she met Schuyler “Sky” Hickman and they were married May 5, 1971, eventually returning to and settling in Oak Hill, WV, where she was a devoted 34 year employee of the Fayette County Commission.

She was a member of First Baptist Church Harlem Heights. Jackie had an unbreakable bond with her sisters. She loved spending time with her three grandchildren, enjoyed working puzzles, watching Hallmark movies, WVU sports, and playing dominoes with her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Schuyler “Sky” Hickman; son, Schuyler B. “Sky” Hickman II and sister, Brenda J. Wilkerson.

Those left to cherish precious memories are her sons, Keith A. (Lisa) Hickman of Fuquay-Varina, NC and Brandon C. (Kristin) Hickman of Norristown, PA; daughter, Caryn A. Hickman of Oak Hill, WV; sisters, Regina (Bobby) Young and Toni Walker, both of Temple Hills, MD, Louise (Charles) Nelson and Geneva Robinson, both of Oak Hill, WV; three grandsons, Myles D., Logan X. and Langston C. Hickman; God-daughter, Michelle Lee; special friend, Luegenia “T.T.”; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 1:00PM Friday, December 28, 2018 at First Baptist Church Harlem Heights, 416 Broadway Ave., Oak Hill, WV with Elder Shannon Robinson and Rev. Charles Blackmon officiating. Burial will follow in High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill.
