Obituaries – Their Stories Live On

Mrs. Jacqueline Evon Brooks, 69, of Beckley, died Sunday, August 9, 2015.

Born July 23, 1946 in Sun, WV, she was the daughter of the late George and Annie Thomas.

Mrs. Brooks was a 1964 graduate of Mount Hope High School, mother, homemaker and formerly married to Leroy Brooks of Beckley.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Keith Brooks and sister, Denise Thomas Ross.

Those left to cherish precious memories are her sons, Kevin Brooks of Beckley, Kenneth (Christina) Brooks of Elizabeth City, NC and Kerry (Michelle) Brooks of Joplin, MO; brothers, George Dupoint Thomas of Atlanta, GA and Clinton (Jacqueline) Thomas of New Castle, DE; sisters, Brenda Underwood of Beckley, Carol (Denard) Coles of Richmond, VA, Pamela (James) Thomas King of Beckley, Betty Thomas of Jamaica, NY, Patricia Fussell of Brooklyn, NY and Debra Thomas of Cherry, NC; aunts, Maggie Freeman of Atlanta, GA and Dorothy Cobb of Canton, OH; 4 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral Service will be 12:00 noon, Saturday, August 15, 2015 at Heart of God Ministries, 1703 South Kanawha St., Beckley, with Bishops David F. Allen and Fred T. Simms officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church.
