Mrs. JoAnn Simon, 73, of Beckley died Friday, July 27, 2018.

Born September 18, 1944 in Stanaford City, WV, she was the daughter of Mary Cousins of Lanark and the late Carl L. Cousins.

She worked as a Teacher's Aide and was a member of Welcome Baptist Church.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her son, William Simon; two stillborn brothers; brothers, James Cousins; grandmother, Lucy Carey; brothers-in-law, Norman Powell and Phillip Lawler; and uncle, Kenneth Freeman.

In addition to her mother, those left to cherish precious memories are her husband of 50 years, Rudolph "Chucky" Simon; daughters, Veronica Simon (Hugh) Perry, LaShima Nicole (Joe) Murdock both of Durham, NC and Anne Benn of Philadelphia, PA; daughter-in-law, Angie Simon of Myrtle Beach, SC; brother, Larry Cousins of Beckley, Carl (Betty) Cousins of Mississippi, Eric (Suquita) Cousins of Georgia; sisters, Mary Alice (Larry) Moore, Diana (Jerome) Bradley and Loretta Powell, all of Beckley, Teresa (Russell) Logan Of Charleston and Tracy Cousins of Parkersburg; sister- in- law, Jeri Lawler of Wake Forest; aunt, Gloria Freeman of Beckley, special son, Rev. Gregory E. Scott of White Sulphur Springs;11 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral service will be 1:00PM Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Heart of God Ministries, 1703 S. Kanawha St., Beckley, with Rev. Gregory E. Scott, Rev. Mildred Best, Rev. Courtney Wallace, Pastor Damon Hamby, Bishop David Allen and Bishop Fred T. Simms officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Beckley.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church.
