Obituary For Mrs. Kathleen A. Jackson

Mrs. Kathleen “Kathy” Ann (Brownell) Jackson of Shady Spring, WV, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at 70 years young. Born on December 13, 1955, in Oneida, NY, Kathy was the daughter of Thomas William Brownell and Constance “Constanza” Brownell, both of whom predeceased their child.

Kathy is survived by her loving husband, Allen Dean Jackson. The couple were together for 40 years, which included 29 years of marriage.

Kathy is also survived by her two children, Jaymi Martin (Tony) of Beckley, WV, and Courtney Woods (Bruce) of Spencer, WV. She also leaves behind nieces, a nephew and several grandchildren.

Kathy graduated from Oneida High School, Class of 1974. Her favorite moments included gardening, bird watching from the kitchen window, baking her infamous pumpkin pies, and eating Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. Kathy was a devoted animal lover who found joy and companionship with Willow (dog) and all of her precious kitties. While she may no longer be physically with us, her spirit will live on in our memories.

As per her request, she has been cremated.

At the family's request, there will be no formal funeral services. The family has chosen to celebrate and remember her life privately.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Raleigh County, if desired.

I'll always remember Kathy as the fun loving neighbor that showed up to the house on her four wheeler just to say hi and check on us! May she rest in heaven and watch over the girls and Allen until you all can be together again. My heart goes out to you all!
