Obituary For Mrs. Kay Frances Walker

On December 28, 2022, Kay Frances Walker was called home to rest after a long life of love and service to her family and her community.

Kay Frances was born February 24, 1957 in Welch, WV to the late Elder Rosetta Robinson Keith and Dwight Robinson. She graduated from Mount Hope High School, and married the love of her life, Deacon Robert Walker Sr. Together the pair went on to have three beautiful children and six grandchildren during their years of life together.

Kay Frances accepted Christ at an early age and will forever be remembered as a tremendous service to the Church, serving on the usher board, leading the kitchen committee, and organizing fundraisers. Her legendary hot dog chili single-handedly funded new robes for the New Bethel Temple Angelic Conquerors choir, where she served as the Overseer. Always the dedicated homemaker, her skills in the kitchen and her eye for decorating were legendary. She was a woman of faith, sophistication, determination, and quick wit… and she was fearless in the face of hard work.

Kay Frances, not only a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, also worked as a Caregiver and Hospice Nurse, choosing to spend her professional life doing what she did best, nurturing and caring for others. She cared deeply for her patients and became family to many of them in their last days. She was fiercely dedicated to her job and her family, often pushing herself beyond exhaustion to be there for those who depended on her.

Kay Frances, in addition to her parents and grandmother, Charity Bell Avery, was preceded in death by her daughter, Takida Walker, brothers, Larry Avery, Kenneth Avery, and Elder Roger Jones, sisters, Delores Robinson and Sharon Moore and nephew, Devon Wolfe.

Kay Frances loved her family above all things, and leaves behind to cherish her memory, her beloved husband, Deacon Robert Walker Sr.; daughter, Tallena (Jermaine) Wiggins of Boxford, MA; son, Robert Walker Jr.; sisters Tina Keith of Riverdale, GA, Darlene Keith of Fredericksburg, VA, and Senoria Mosley of Bluefield, WV; brother, John Robinson of Princeton, WV; grandchildren, Takida, Jermaine Jr. "Charlie", Jaden, La’Mya, Malia, and Robert III “Manny”; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family.

Funeral service will be 12:00PM Friday, January 6, 2023 at Heart of God Ministries 1703 S. Kanawha St. Beckley. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens Prosperity.

Friends, while wearing masks and observing social distancing, may view and visit with the family one hour prior.

Kay was an awesome woman of God. Not only did we share our church, we also worked together and became friends outside of church and work. She was always willing to listen and give advice even if it wasn't what you thought you needed to hear at the time. She will be truly missed and always loved. Deaconess Misty Thomas
