Obituary For Mrs. Lorraine Mayo

Mrs. Loraine Mayo, 96 of Beckley, passed Thursday, March 17, 2022 following a one year illness. Born June 25, 1925 in Sandy Level, VA, she was the daughter of the late Reuben and Nora May Toller Edwards Sr. Loraine worked at Sibley Memorial Hospital, Washington, DC with newborn babies (1976) and also at Beckley Hospital. She was a member of North Beckley of Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Samuel David Reynolds; second husband, Oriville Mayo; daughter, Ella May Reynolds; brothers, Emmette Edwards, Vernon Edwards, Nathaniel Edwards, and Reuben Edwards, Jr.and sisters, Gladys Edwards March and Carol Edwards. Those left to cherish precious memories are her sons, David W. Reynolds and William “Andrew” Reynolds, both of Beckley; seven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral service will be 12:00Noon, Saturday, March 26, 2022 at First Baptist Church of North Beckley, 110 Ellis St., Beckley, with Rev. John Burnett officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Beckley. Friends, while wearing mask and observing social distancing, may view and visit with the family one hour prior to the service at the church.
