Obituary For Mrs. Mabel Dillard

Mrs. Mabel Dillard, 90, of Beckley, WV went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Saturday, July 11, 2020.

Born February 7, 1930 in Freeman, Mercer County, WV, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Emma Harris-Jenkins.

Our beloved Mother went to dance in the stars with our dad.

She was united in holy matrimony to Leslie Dillard, Jr. on December 25, 1948. This union was blessed with 8 children. Leslie preceded her in death on February 5, 2011. In addition to her parents, Mabel is preceded in death by her brother, Harry Jenkins.

Mabel accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Beckley, WV. She attended public school and later graduated from Kimball High School, Welch, WV.

Mabel loved to read her bible, spending time with family, gardening, laughing and always wearing a smile on her face. She was a loving and caring person, devoted wife, mother and friend, always thinking of others first. To know her was to love her. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them.

Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children: sons, Leslie (Ellen) Dillard III of Homestead FL, Robert "Bobby"(Evonne) Dillard of Beckley, WV, Bishop Gerald (Linda) Dillard, of Beckley, WV, Randy Dillard of NY, Rickey (Darletta) Dillard of Beckley, WV and Tommy (Tracey) Dillard of Warren, MI; daughters, Regina (Sam) Thomas of Beckley, WV and Vickie (Greg) Wright of Raleigh, NC; special granddaughter, Alesia (Michael) Gray of Forest Lake, MN, whom they nurtured, supported and loved as a daughter; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Graveside service will be 12:00PM Sunday, July 19, 2020 at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity, WV with Elder Gerald Dillard officiating.

Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic mask and social distancing will be required to attend the graveside service.
