Obituary For Mrs. Mae Helen Lewis

Mrs. Mae Helen Lewis, 93, of Beckley died May 6, 2022.

Born January 23, 1929 in Lynch, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late William Howard and Johnnie Lee Rolen-Howard.

Mae was a domestic worker. She attended Stratton High School and was a member of Sky Ministries.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Deacon Charlie Lewis; son, James “Pee lord” Howard; daughter, Paula Diane Lewis; one brother and two sisters.

Those left to cherish precious memories are her grandsons, Pastor James Howard Jr. of Greenville, SC, Leon Lewis of Charleston, WV, and Marvin Braxton of Mt. Hope, WV; six great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; extended family, Delena Redd and Nickolette Monroe; close friends and caregivers, Wilbert and Olinda Smith; special friend, Evalene Stockton. and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 12:00PM Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at Sky Ministries 815 S. Fayette St. Beckley with Rev. William Fruit officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity.

Friends, while wearing masks and observing social distancing, may view and visit with the family one hour prior to the funeral service.

    I am speaking on behalf of my Mother who is her niece Lena Jones, my brothers Malcolm Crosby, Bruce Crosby and I am Chris Crosby we all were her great nephews from Lynch ky who spent a lot of time with Aunt Helen, Uncle Abe went to school with Diane at park jr high to be exact as a youngster. She was always so sweet and nice never met a stranger and would set you straight when she had too! Aunt Helen is the last of our family from that were born to her mother Johnnie Lee Howard which was my Great Great Grandmother! You will be missed but your love for us will never go away! Rest in peace Love you always Aunt Helen!
