Obituary For Mrs. Marie Rose Parks

Mrs. Marie Rose Parks, 103, of Mt. Hope, WV died Friday, July 1, 2016.

Born May 5, 1913, she was the daughter of the late Matthew and Rose Lee Payne.

She attended DuBois High School and was a cook at White Oak Country Club and Mountaineer Hotel. She was also a member of United Missionary Baptist Church, Mt. Hope.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Parks; children, Elloyd Price, Ruth Ann Price, Betty Joe Gavin and Robert Parks; brothers, Matthew Payne and Reginald Payne; sisters, Juanita Cooper, Joan Eason, Lucille Smith, Rosa Payne and Armel Payne.

Left to cherish precious memories are numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; great-great-great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 1:00p.m., Saturday, July 9, 2016 at United Missionary Baptist Church, 205 S. Fayette Avenue, Mt. Hope, WV with Rev. Phillip E. Copney, Sr., officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Beckley.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church.
