Obituaries – Their Stories Live On

Mrs. Mary Lee Mitchell, 90, of Lester died Sunday, May 24, 2015.

Born May 14, 1925 in Otoole, WV, she was the daughter of the late Will and Mary Wright Martin.

Mrs. Mitchell worked as a housekeeper for some prominent families in the Beckley area.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Mitchell Jr.; two daughters, Marquita S. Mitchell and Harlima L. Mitchel; brothers, Alfred, Jack, Thomas, Lawrence, William, John and Roosevelt Martin; sisters, Helen Myers, Matilda Foster, Clara Irvin and Virginia Swayne.

Left to cherish precious memories are five sons, Clarence of Bradley, WV, Terry and Julius of Beckley, WV, Steve and Timothy of Lester, WV; eight daughters, Rebecca Hills of New Bern, NC, Bronzie (Roy) Hatcher, Yvonne, Tijuana and Rene, all of Beckley, WV, Dreama (Carlos) Lowe of Kannapolis, NC, Mary of Bradley, WV and Sherry of Lester, WV; one sister, Dorothy Morris, Philadelphia, PA; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral service will be 1:00 PM, Saturday, May 30, 2015, at the Heart of God Ministries,1703 S. Kanawha Street, Beckley, WV with Bishop Fred T. Simms officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church.
