Obituaries – Their Stories Live On

Mrs. Odessa Wynn, 99, of Matteson, IL, formerly of West Wickham, died Sunday, May 1, 2016.

Born November 9, 1916 in Mabscott, WV, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Ellen Ray Stanton.

She was united in Holy matrimony to John Coleman Wynn and to this union was born one son, John Chester Wynn, whom she resided with.

She was a homemaker and longest surviving member of First Baptist Church of West Wickham, where she sang in the choir and served as church clerk for over 20 years. She also was the oldest member of the community of West Wickham.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Coleman Wynn; one sister, and one brother.

Those left to cherish precious memories are her son, John Chester (Rita) Wynn of Matteson, IL; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 12Noon Friday, May 6, 2016 at the Ritchie & Johnson Funeral Parlor Chapel, 748 South Fayette Street, Beckley, WV, with Rev. Thomas Steelman officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral parlor chapel.
