Obituary For Mrs. Patricia Braxton Davis

Ms. Patricia Braxton Davis, former educator in the Cleveland Metro School System, was born to the late Elizabeth Washington Braxton and Cleovis H. Braxton on January 22, 1942, in Beckley, WV.

Formerly of Cleveland, OH and Laurel, MD, she passed Wednesday, October 23, 2024.

She dedicated her life to Christ as a young child, being baptized at Central Baptist Church in Beckley, WV.

A native West Virginian, she graduated from Stratton High School. She received her B.S. Degree in Education from
Bluefield State College and her master's from Cleveland State University.

Patricia was a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Retired Teachers Association and Red Hatters.

For 36 years, Patricia worked in the field of education as a reading specialist. During her career tenure, she received numerous Outstanding Teachers’ awards. She also had a great love for helping young people, traveling and being with friends. The legacy of her life was a teacher and friend.

Patricia was the cherished aunt of her nephew and niece, whom she loved and adored. She had a unique ability to make each of them feel special and loved. Their lives will be forever enriched by her presence, and her memory will forever be cherished in their hearts.

Friends and acquaintances also mourn her loss and will remember her as a dear friend. Her, caring nature and genuine love left an indelible mark on all those fortunate enough to have crossed paths with her.

Patricia was preceded in death by her brother, Alfred Braxton.

She leaves to cherish in precious memories her nephew, Christopher Braxton of Upper Marlboro, MD; niece, Tammy Coles of Conyers, GA; two great-nephews, Connor and Chase Braxton of Upper Marlboro, MD and great-niece, Gabrielle Coles of Conyers, GA.

Graveside service will be 1:00PM Monday, November 4, 2024 at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens 5251 Robert C. Byrd Dr., Prosperity.
