Obituary For Mrs. Patricia “Pat” Diane Venable Williams

Mrs. Patricia “Pat” Diane Venable Williams went to be with the Lord peacefully Thursday, March 19, 2026 at home after a long illness.

Pat was born January 21, 1954 in Beckley, WV, she was the daughter of the late Herman Ulysses and Daisy Lester Venable Sr.

Pat was raised and lived in NY. She returned to WV to complete higher education.

Pat attended Concord University, Athens, WV, completing her degree, including her Master’s in Social Work.

Pat was employed with several County Agencies, including Raleigh, Fayette and Mercer Counties (FMRS); worked at Presley Ridge Foster Care traveling between Beckley and Clarksburg; the Department of Health and Human Resources Raleigh County; and retired from Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital as Social Worker and Patient Advocate after many years of dedicated service.

Pat was also a dedicated member of Heart of God Ministries, where she wore many hats. She served on the “Food for Body and Soul Food Pantry” Committee; served as Assistant Secretary for the “Women of Excellence” Committee; Soul to Soul Ministry; Greeters Ministry; Health and Wellness Ministry; Community Service, Heart of God Ministries Back to School Community Event; Relay for Life; and participated in the church wherever needed. She was committed to sharing The Gospel of Jesus Christ to promote spiritual unity to everyone.

Pat formed the first Alzheimer’s Association Chapter in Beckley, WV after the loss of her father to Alzheimer’s in 1989.

Pat was instrumental in organizing The Southern West Virginia Multicultural Museum and Community Center in East Park, Beckley: a safe place where children and adults can go to fellowship, get food, become aware of neighborhood activities, participate in various educational activities and programs.

Pat, in addition to her parents, was preceded in death by two sisters, Ernestine and Maxine Venable; and nephews, Christopher Chandler and J.C. Venable.

Pat leaves to cherish precious memories her loving husband, Bradley “Jimmy” Williams; son, Kenneth Venable of Beckley, WV; daughter, Schawanna Venable of Beckley, WV; brother, Herman “June” Venable, Jr. of Beckley, WV; five grandchildren, Joseph “Josh” Stewart, Richard “Ricky” Maniece, Jason Maniece, Jasmin Maniece, and K’lia Henry Venable; several great grandchildren; first cousins, Brenda, Vernee’ and Lorraine (Michael), all of CA, Walter of NY and Philippa (John) of VA; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral service will be 12:00PM Saturday, March 28, 2026 at Heart of God Ministries 1703 S. Kanawha St. Beckley. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Beckley.

Friends, while wearing masks and observing social distancing, may view and visit with the family one-hour prior.

    Pat was my foster mother for many years I loved her so much I can't believe you are gone may God continue to bless your children I miss you both so very much I'm truly heartbroken but grateful to have you as my mother love Tammie Stuck.

    So had to hear this.... Pat helped train me when I began my first professional job out of college. She was loved and respected by the children and families with whom we worked. Such a strong role model and loss for the community. My deepest sympathy to her family and loved ones.
