Obituary For Mrs. Pauline Mae Staples
Rest on, Moo Moo!
Mrs. Pauline Mae Davis-Staples, the oldest of nine children, was born to Henry Davis and Lilla Mae Jackson on September 21, 1927, in Ashland, (McDowell County) WV. She died on Sunday, September 19, 2021, surrounded by family following a long illness.
Pauline was affectionately known as , "Moo Moo" or "Polly". She loved to watch her Westerns, Soap Operas, Heart Of God Live, Mt. Zion Baptist Church, and listen to the Radio Broadcast. She retired from BARH as a kitchen aide and loved to make homemade rolls. She was a dedicated Member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, where she served on the Senior Usher Board until her health failed.
Moo Moo also loved to SHOP!
She was preceded in death by her husband, Deacon Warren H. Staples Sr., son, Warren Staples Jr.; daughters, Carolyn Dee Staples and Brenda Mae Staples; granddaughters, Jameita and Reneita Jones; grandson, Brian Staples; great-grandson, Nino Moore; brother, Jerry Jackson, and sister, Alice Rhodes.
Left to cherish her precious memories are her children, Lynda Lang of Waterbury, CT, Don J. Staples (Deborah) of Charleston, WV, Marilyn Simms (Bishop Fred) and LaTorya Cummings (Warren), both of Beckley, WV; brothers, Norman Jackson (Verna) and Michael Jackson, both of Beckley, WV and Lawrence Jackson of NY; sisters, Carrie Stewart, of GA, Louise Teet, of Beckley, WV and Ardell Grant of NY; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Staples of OH; 41 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and loved ones.
The family would like to give special thanks to her caretakers, daughters, Lynda Lang and LaTorya Cummings; granddaughter, Reneira Jones, along with other grandchildren. We would also like to thank, Dr. Jafary and staff at BARH and Bowers Hospice House of Beckley, WV. Taking care of Polly was a Family Affair!
Funeral service will be 12:00Noon, Saturday, September 25, 2021 at Heart of God Ministries, 1703 S. Kanawha St., Beckley, with Bishop Fred T. Simms officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Beckley.
Friends, while wearing masks and observing social distancing, may view one hour prior to the service.
