Obituaries – Their Stories Live On

Priscilla "Evelyn" Simpson, of Beckley, passed Sunday, September 2, 2018.

Born September 30, 1938 in Tams, WV, she was the daughter of the late Harrien and Naomi Branch Jackson.

Graduating from Byrd-Prillerman High School, Amigo, WV, she was united in holy matrimony to the love of her life, Thomas C. Simpson Jr., December 27, 1958. To this marriage three children were born.

A faithful 48 years, member of New Hope Baptist Church, she served as assistant finance secretary. Priscilla worked at Pine Lodge Nursing Home and Beckley College and retired from Beckley Hospital.

Also preceding in death are sisters, Marjorie Clark, Ruth Davis, Doretha Dodson and Allie Jackson and brothers, Harry and Walter Jackson.

Priscilla leaves to cherish her memories her faithful husband, Thomas "Juneboy"; daughter, Rosetta (Gregory) Claytor, sons Thomas (Michelle) and Eric (Sharlene); stepdaughter, Julie Y. (James) Mills; siblings, Harrien "June" Jackson and Tessie (Charles) Wade; grandchildren, Carnai, Sharnell (Stephen) Simmons, Thomas M., Japri, Erick, Karah, great-granddaughter, Skylar and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends she cherished dearly.

Funeral service will be1:00PM Saturday, September 8, 2018 at Heart of God Ministries, 1703 S. Kanawha St., Beckley with Pastors Thomas C. Simpson III and E. Gregory Claytor officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church.
