Mrs. Queen Esther Motley, 81, of Beckley died Monday, June 25, 2018.

Born October 10, 1936 in Slab Fork, WV, she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Ethel Strickland Moore.

She was a member of Welcome Baptist Church, where she served faithfully on the Ushers and Mothers Boards. She was employed by DHHR.

She was preceded in death by her parents brothers, Algie, Samuel, Jayvon and Howard Moore; sisters, Helen Moore, Revella Tyus, Inez Rochester, Vergie Manning and Virginia Ward (June 20, 2018).

Left to cherish precious memories are her husband, Louis Motley, Jr.; son, Louis Motley III of Huntington, WV; daughters, Scarlett (Tommy) Reid of Goose Creek, SC, Sheryl (Clarence) Williams of Jacksonville, FL and Kathryn (Stanford) Jennings of Alpharetta, GA; brother, Charles (Evelyn) Moore of NY, NY; sisters, Louise Hall of NY, NY, Delores Robinson of Beckley and Maxine (Jimmy) Motley of Columbus, OH; brother-in-law, Vernon Spann of Chicago IL; sisters-in-law, Nancy Motley Williams of Chicago, IL and Delores Moore of Detroit, MI; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 12:00 PM Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at Welcome Baptist Church, 206 Eighth Street, Beckley, with Bishop David Allen officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church.
