Obituary For Mrs. Rhona Leon Robinson Schofield

Mrs. Rhona Leon (Robinson) Schofield, on December 18, 2022, was called to Eternal Rest by her Heavenly Father and received by her loving and devoted husband, the late Edward “Eddie” Schofield.

Rhona was born on July 13, 1949, in Mullens, WV, she was the daughter of the late Bishop Felix and Esther C Robinson and was also preceded in death by her brother, James Turner.

Rhona accepted Christ into her life at an early age and was a member at Heart of God Ministries at her passing.

Rhona was an excellent cook, master seamstress and crafter. Rhona briefly worked in food service and early in the Covid-19 pandemic, she crafted and supplied masks to many, near and far.

Rhona, from her union with her husband, is survived by the children, James (Almetra) Schofield of Charlotte, NC, Jeffrey (Yolanda) Schofield of New Smyrna Beach, FL, Janelle Schofield of Mt. Hope, WV and Jamara (Victor) Johnson of Atlanta, GA; fourteen grandchildren, including Janae, to whom she passed her love and talent of crafting; six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Rhona also leaves to cherish her memory her siblings, Annette Sanders, David (Debby) Robinson, Delores (Ernest) Stewart, Barbara Coleman, Olinda “Blondie” (Wilbert) Smith, all of Beckley, WV and Clifton Robinson of VA; special friends, Nita Myers and Kim Gilbert; caregiver, Lavern Austin, all of Beckley, WV and a host of nieces, nephews and other loved ones.

The family would like to extend special acknowledgment to Jan, Jeff and Janae for the care provided to their mother and grandmother, The family would also like to thank anyone who provided condolences.

Funeral service will be 11:00AM Friday, December 30, 2022 at Heart of God Ministries 1703 S. Kanawha St. Beckley with Bishop Fred T. Simms officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity.

Friends, while wearing masks and observing social distancing, may view and visit with the family one hour prior.

Aunt Rhona was a great cook & an exceptional phenomenal master Bread Maker!! I vividly I remember whenever I would go to Beckley and stop by the house she'd always have made a hot fresh loaf or 2 of bread for me & Kevin. It was just damn good. She was so timely with it ready upon my arrival that I'd take it out of the oven for her just as I walked in the front door. We truly miss her & I wish that we'd spent much more time together as we grew older. She is certainly my favorite aunt, but gone away too soon!! Never saw her without a smile on her face or something fun to say, to do, or recommend. Aunt Rhona you are truly missed back/down here, but enjoy eternity in the Kingdom of Heaven with Jesus, Uncle Eddie & the rest of our Heavenly family!!
