Obituary For Mrs. Roalene Virginia Phillips

Mrs. Roalene Virginia Phillips, 87, of Beckley, WV took her rest Thursday, June 8, 2023.

Roalene was born December 16,1935 to the late O’Delle Starkey and Douglas Mobile Holland.

Roalene was a dedicated employee of the Medical Field for many years.

Roalene was a 50+ year member of Welcome Baptist Church, having served as pianist and Church Mother. She faithfully served until she became ill. She was also a member of the American Legion.

Roalene, in addition to her parents, was preceded in death by her husband, James Phillips; sister, Janice Z. Reed and several uncles and aunts.

Roalene leaves to cherish precious memories her children, James “Jimmy” Phillips of Beckley, WV and Peggy (Terri) Phillips of Douglasville, GA; daughter-in-law, Shannon Phillips; brother, Kenneth Starkey Sr.; sister, Valeria Glover; Godchildren, Bryant and Michael Reed; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and a host of nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

Funeral service will be 12:00PM Friday, June 16, 2023 at Welcome Baptist Church 206 Eighth St. Beckley, WV with Bishop David Allen officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity.

Friends may view and visit with the family one-hour prior.
