Mary, Sending our deepest condolences to you and your family. When I heard "Ree" had passed so many memories of you, Sheila, Ms. Swanson and Ree came to my mind with lots of smiles when we were growing up in Beckley. Your mother, Ree, was allowed to live a long life which I am sure has left you and your family with so many wonderful memories. Treasure those memories in the days and years to come. Renee Fullen, Sister and Family of Sheila Fullen Wallington

To the Family of Mrs. Marie Devin; I offer my sincere condolences. I came to know Mrs. Devin when she attended our church, Bethel AME Cave Spring in Roanoke, VA. She and my mother (Miss Peewee) were "pew mates" in church and they were telephone buddies in the days between services. We called her Miss Marie. My Mom went to glory in May 2019. I know that she is now enjoying renewed chats with her buddy. My condolences and my prayers for strength and comfort to all of you. It is comforting to know that God sustains us in our times of trials and loss. Love, Eulah "Becky'' Price Roanoke, VA

My prayers and condolences are with the family of Ms. Rose Devin. I knew her by Ms. Napper when I worked at The City Of Beckley Housing Authority. Ms. Napper lived at the bottom of 9th street. We would talk and laugh and see always let me know her birthday was in Nov. I believe the 12th and I would tell the mine was on the 1st. She would just laugh. When she moved to Virginia it hurt my heart ❤ when I found out. Ms. "Napper" Devin is in rest in the arms of Jesus all pains is gone all sickness and diseases she is at total rest.

I want to pass on my deepest sympathy to the Devin/Napper family. I knew Mrs. Rose Devin all my childhood life as Mrs. Marie Napper. Mrs. Devin had a very large family that matched most of my Davis Family. I attended Piney Oaks, Park and Woodrow Wilson with her daughter Sonya, a very special and dear friend. Mrs. Devin's children Elsie, Ernest, Carolyn and Rebecca also grew up beside a Davis child. Mrs. Devin was kind and gentle, always ready to provide a kind word or parental nurturing to all Red Brush children. She was an extended mom to me and many of my friends during the 1960's and 1970's, showing the best of "It takes a village to raise a child". I will miss Mrs. Devin for the legendary wisdom she imparted to me and my friends. This virtuous woman of God was a pillar of the Red Brush community that protected all children that were near her. Great leader and Mother will be remembered as a legend of the successful past, when the Red Brush was free-spirited and progressive place to live and raise a family. Rest in peace.
