Obituary For Mrs. Rosetta Greer

Mrs. Rosetta Greer, 86, of Beckley, WV died Saturday, January 1, 2022. Born September 30, 1935 in Beckley, she was the daughter of the late Osby and Doshia Fowler Terrell. Rosetta attended Stratton Junior High then Stratton High School, Class of 1951, where she was a cheerleader. Rosetta met the love of her life, Wesley Greer at 14 years old. They married in 1951 and were married for 70 years. Wesley and Rosetta moved to Newark, NJ shortly after deciding to further their future. They lived, worked and raised their four children (Wesley, Ronald, LaGrant, and Michael) for the next 50 years. Rosetta had several jobs in which she left a lasting impression including factory worker and Ford Motor Company; after retiring from Peerless Tube, Rosetta and Wesley moved back to West Virginia. Rosetta was a God fearing woman who knew her Bible very well and loved the Lord. She loved life; going shopping and being out and about. She was a very stylish woman; loved to dress and look good. Always getting compliments everywhere she went. Rosetta loved her family so much and was definitely a “boy mom”! She loved her sons to the ends of the earth and would do anything for them. She loved making big Sunday dinners every week and having family over. Rosetta loved making everyone laugh, always joking and the life of the party! In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Wesley III; grandson, LaGrant Greer Jr.; brothers, William and Robert Terrell; and sisters, Doshia Terrell, Olla Terrell, Gladys Terrell Davis and Barbara Jean Wilson. Those left to cherish precious memories are her loving husband, Wesley Jr.; children, Ronald, LaGrant (Peppy), and Michael (Fiance’ Sonya Rogers); grandchildren, Towana (Jamal) Greer-Pierce, Lisa (Stuart) King-Manuel, Wesley (Delores) Greer IV, Takisha (Algie) Greer-Scales, Michael Greer, Jazmine Greer, Juanita Greer, Shaterra Greer, and Marcellous Sorrels; great-grandchildren, Ayanna Greer, Jalen Pierce, Alaska King, Tyree Greer, Aljane Scales, Wesley Greer V, Qushawn Thompson, Anthony Pannell, Jayron Thompson, Milo Holley, Devitri Nelson and Makai Layer; great-great-grandchildren, Jaiden Pierce, Sebastian King-Sewall and Londyn Greer and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 11:00AM Friday, January 7, 2022 at the Ritchie & Johnson Funeral Parlor Chapel 748 S. Fayette St. Beckley with Elder David Leo Moore officiating.

I am so sorry I didn't get to know her more and better. Despite all the miles and years in between I always felt loved, accepted and happy in her presence! I shared my birthday month with her and I never knew this. What I remember is her love and her smile. She was genuine, said what she wanted to and her laughter was undeniably hers. She will be missed dearly in spirit but never forgotten. I Love you all, Doll (Darlynn). 🙏🏽❤️
