Mrs. Sadie Lee McFarlin Cooper In 1990 her daughter, Sharon Denise, at work we met. Over time our friendship was set. She became my sister, from another mister. In the early 1990s I went on my first Cooper VA Beach family vacation. Meeting the Coopers with great expectations. About our big families we often talked, Meeting them in the beach house or on beach walks. This is when I met the parents of the clan, Maw Maw, Paw Paw, Mom and Dad. Mr. Otis and Sadie Cooper what a love they had. They raised a great family as the Lord led. I decided to call them Maw Maw and Paw Paw, Mr. and Mrs. Cooper seemed to formal. Many years have come and gone, Beach vacations, family cookouts and visits to their home. Moving them from West VA to Ohio was grand, We went from place to place like a great caravan. Paw Paw passed in 2011. Maw Maw was 87. That Christmas she asked if she could be my Godmother, I was surprised because I never had another. She was such a kind woman you see, One that loved to praise the Lord and took great care of her family. An example of how a life for Christ we should live, She taught us how to love and forgive. Now the matriarch is gone, She has left many to carry on. Etched in my memories will always be, How kind Maw Maw was always to me. To her family, from the Godsister, Lord knows we are going to miss her. As Maw Maw takes her rest, By her life, we were all blessed. Written by Lisa G. Mitchell 17 NOV 2025
